We are pleased to share information about the international research seminar “Towards a Bioregional Approach to Local Agri-Food Systems”, which will take place at the Center for Human and Social Sciences on Friday, October 24, in both morning and afternoon sessions.
During the seminar, the final results of the ALISOS project will be presented, along with the initial findings of the TERRALIMAD project and the European Partnership AGROECOLOGY PARTNERSHIP.
The event will feature guest speakers such as Pablo Tittonell, a global reference in agroecology, and David González from the Sustraiak cooperative, which focuses on regenerating agroecosystems through a social economy approach, including initiatives such as agricultural test spaces.
This seminar is part of the ongoing series of seminars and conferences organized by the Research Group on Agri-Food Systems and Territorial Development (see the 2025–2026 program here).
In addition, a special issue of the journal Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems has recently been published under the title “Sustainable Food Networks: Chains of Values and Food Transitions,” coordinated by Carolina Yacamán, José Luis Sánchez, and Javier Sanz. The issue includes 10 articles, available here. One of these papers, authored by Javier Sanz, Carolina Yacamán, and Rocío Pérez, explores agroecological cooperative supermarkets as a tool for scaling up agroecology.
